Make a difference, working for a healthier PNG with Australian Doctors International

What’s involved?

This role is responsible for the financial running of Australian Doctors International’s (ADI) operations in Australia and PNG. Supported by a bookkeeper and a Finance and Audit Committee the finance Manager is responsible for:

  • Monthly management reporting
  • Annual budget and quarterly forecast
  • Funder acquittals
  • Ensure all Statutory reporting obligations are met both in Australia and PNG (BAS, IRC, Superannuation).
  • liaison with ADI’s IT service provider

As a registered charity and accredited by DFAT under the Australian NGO Cooperation Program, there are several essential financial compliance and policy requirements this role is responsible for.

This is a senior role within a growing development non-government organisation working closely with the CEO, Treasurer and members of the Finance and Audit Committee.


Australian Doctors International (ADI) is a not-for-profit charity specialising in outreach health patrols and health education, deploying volunteer doctors and health coordinators to work in partnership with local government, private companies and faith-based health providers to deliver unique value through the three-way combination of:

  • clinical services and public health education delivered to remote and rural populations,
  • patrol based training that exposes health care workers to practical up-skilling opportunities and
  • opportunity for those health care workers to deepen and/or refresh their clinical skills in a niche -topic area previously identified as lacking.

Essential requirements:

  • CPA/CA qualified
  • A degree in accountancy, with a minimum of 5-8 years’ work experience


  • Has experience in a not-for-profit and/or working with a development agency (ACFID, ACNC)
  • Experience in Project Accounting

HR and Admin Assistant, Sydney Office

4 hours per day, 4 days per week. Flexible, Immediate Start
Hourly Rate – $30 per Hour plus super (Casual)

Australian Doctors International (ADI) is looking to recruit a HR and Administration Assistant who will assist a small team within a vibrant, fast moving office that is growing. We are looking for someone with high energy that wants to be involved in a variety of exciting projects along with their day to day duties. A normal day’s work could involve sourcing mosquito nets for doctors to take to PNG on a deployment to assisting prepare monthly Board meeting papers.

Key responsibilities

  • Support to HR recruitment processes – manage inflow of new applications for overseas placements
  • Manage datasets/spreadsheets (Crimcheck; AHPRA: training register)
  • Travel bookings
  • Maintenance of office – stationery, kitchen
  • Preparations for Board meetings
  • Record minutes of team meetings
  • Management of asset register (materials we send to PNG)
  • Ordering of PNG supplies
  • Administrative support to CEO
  • Support to social media presence and communications.


  • Excel skills must be intermediate Excel skills, minimum intermediate level
  • Excellent computer literacy
